PCH announces Briana Tyson as perinatal navigator
Putnam County Hospital has announced Briana Tyson, RN, CLS, as the new perinatal navigator for Putnam Women’s Health.
A perinatal navigator is a special resource for a woman to have on her side when she has a newborn on the way. A navigator is a specially trained nurse who focuses on helping expecting mothers with the challenges of pregnancy and childbirth.
For pregnant women, the navigator may be the extra hand needed to navigate a healthy pregnancy.
Tyson is a graduate of Greencastle High School and received her RN degree from Ivy Tech Community College in 2011. She became a certified lactation specialist through the Indiana WIC program in 2017.
She has more than six years of experience working with childbearing families at Putnam County Hospital.
“I am very passionate about providing education and support to help empower families to achieve their goals and improve health outcomes,” Tyson said. “As Putnam County Hospital’s perinatal navigator I will be able to assist families from preconception until their child turns 18 months old. I can help coordinate care, provide one on one support, individualized education, and make referrals to additional agencies within our community. I am here to help you every step of the way.”
