Charlene Legan

Charlene (Wheeler) Legan, 86, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022. She was a lifelong resident of Union Township, Ind.

She was born on Jan. 16, 1936 in Johnson County, Ind.

She married Henry Nelson Legan in 1959. He preceded her in passing in 2005.

Survivors include her children, Mark Legan (Phyllis), Maggie Legan, Tilly Legan and Matt Legan (Jess); sister Donna Mae Williams; grandchildren Elizabeth Tharp, Mandy Vranek, Allen Settles, Nicole Settles, Erica Settles, Levi Zahnd, Luke Zahnd, Bekah Legan and Blake Legan.

She was preceded in passing by her parents; husband; daughter Molly Troyer; sister Mary Utterback; and sister Joan Schuler.

Charlene was a graduate of Union High School, class of 1954. She then went on to graduate from Franklin College.

She was a homemaker. She often offered her services as a substitute teacher.

Rev. Seth Moorman will conduct a service on Wednesday, Jan. 26 at 2 p.m. at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St., Franklin, IN 46131. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the service time. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Johnson County 4-H STAR Fund and sent to the Johnson County Community Foundation, 398 S. Main St., Franklin, IN 46131.
