Ivy Tech Career Fair

More than 80 job seekers converge on Ivy Tech-Greencastle Tuesday for a career fair hosted by the college, Greencastle/Putnam County Economic Development and WorkOne Western Indiana. More than 30 employers were represented in the fair that was geared toward workers displaced by the widespread layoffs at the IAC Greencastle plant. The event was, however, open to any job seekers, as well as a chance to see the Ivy Tech campus and what it has to offer. “The event was awesome and a huge success for the community,” Ivy Tech Site Director Carol Whitesel said. “I feel like the event demonstrated the great partnerships we have between local business, Ivy Tech, Economic Development and WorkOne.” Brad Trusler, business consultant for WorkOne, echoed Whitesel’s sentiments. “It is awesome to have partners like Ivy Tech and Greencastle/Putnam Development to work with to bring employers, job seekers and students together all in one place to help our community,” Trusler said. “I would also add that any job seeker who missed the job fair and needs help searching for employment and connecting with the employers at the job fair as well as other employers in the area, can visit the Greencastle WorkOne Office at 1007 Mill Pond Lane.”
