Helen Louise Osborne, 77, of Jackson Township, Parke County, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, at her residence.

Born July 18, 1944, in Greencastle, she was the daughter of Harold O. and Julia Marcum Seay.

She married Douglas T. Osborne on May 28, 1965, and he died April 5, 2001.

Helen was a 1962 graduate of Van Buren High School and then Harrold’s Beauty Academy in Indianapolis. She was a hair stylist and owned and operated beauty salons in Greencastle. She most recently was a driver for the Amish. She served as the treasurer for the Jackson Township Board of Trustees.

Helen was a Parke County 4-H volunteer for 45 years, including being a club leader, Junior Leader chaperone, and member of the 4-H Council. She started quilting later and life and that became her passion. She belonged to the Clay County Christian Quilters Club at the Harmony Methodist Church.

She is survived by a brother, David Seay (Claudia) of Jackson Township; two daughters, Tammy Sue Branch (Dale) of Terre Haute and Melisa Ann Greene (Douglas) of Stillwater, Okla.; a son, David Troy Osborne (Kari) of Lyford; and seven grandchildren, Randy Lucas, Gina Lucas, Nick Lucas, Brendon Lucas, Sarah Osborne, Ian Troy Osborne and Alexander Greene. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren, Bryson, Brayden and Brynn Gordon and Adrianne Cyr; a niece, Michele Seay of Greencastle; and several cousins.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 1 at 11 a.m. at Barnes and Rice Funeral Home, 111 East High Street in Rockville. Visitation will be on Monday, Jan. 31 from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Memory Garden Cemetery in Rockville.
