Josephine Joann Plessinger

Josephine Joann Plessinger, 88, Greencastle, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022.

She was born April 5, 1933 to Phillip and Andretta (Costa) Polifroni in Terre Haute.

Josephine graduated from Garfield High School in 1951. She worked as a buyer for Roots Department Store until her move to Greencastle, where she was primarily a homemaker.

She married Leland David Plessinger on Aug. 20, 1955. He preceded her in death on March 10, 2010.

Josephine is survived by three sons, Robert Plessinger of Montgomery, Mich., Phillip Plessinger and wife Carla of Greencastle and Christopher Plessinger and wife Gretl of Tallahassee, Fla.; four grandchildren, James Plessinger and wife Allie of Bloomington, Matthew Plessinger and wife Kari of Poland, Jessica Plessinger of Montgomery and Michael Plessinger of Tallahassee; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary Margaret Polifroni and brother Tony Polifroni.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are being handled by Greiner Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Terre Haute.
