Tuesday, February 22, 2022

DePauw Opera returns to live performances March 3-6 with two small masterpieces staged in Moore Theater at DePauw’s Green Center for the Performing Arts.

The Baroque English opera “Dido and Aeneas” by Henry Purcell will be in two performances, Thursday, March 3 and Saturday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m.

Christoph Willibald Gluck’s trendsetting “Orfeo ed Euridice,” sung in Italian, will be Friday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 6 at 2 p.m. Guest director Cara Consilvio has staged the opera. English supertitles will be shown over the stage to help with translations.

Each opera is approximately one hour in length and there is only opera per evening. Tickets are limited in order to stay within Covid protocols at DePauw.
