LWV Community Conversation to consider the state of Covid locally

Tuesday, March 8, 2022

Are you sick of Covid and confused as to where we are headed now? Bring questions to the Kiwanis Room at the Putnam County Public Library on Thursday, March 10 at 7 p.m. for a community conversation about the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Sara Burnett public health nurse of the Putnam County Health Department, will be giving a presentation about the state of Covid in the Greencastle community and will be taking questions from the audience.

This conversation is an opportunity for members of the community to learn more about where the community is with the pandemic as well as what precautions to take to continue to slow the spread of the virus.

This Community Conversation is sponsored by the Greencastle League of Women Voters, the Putnam County Public Library and the Putnam County Health Department, and is open to all.

In order to ensure the safety of all guests attending in person, masks will be required during the event and all guests must sit six feet apart to maintain social distance.

For those who prefer to attend virtually, the event will be livestreamed on the Putnam County Public Library Facebook page and can be accessed at https://fb.me/e/4MVJ8yS6e.

Since the novel coronavirus first emerged at the end of 2019, it quickly spread across the globe, infecting nearly half a billion people. The United States accounts for more than 80 million of those infections and 984,000 deaths. More than 1.69 million cases have been recorded in Indiana, nearly 10,000 of which were reported in Putnam County alone.

With this rapidly changing situation, organizers believe it is incredibly important to understand the state of the pandemic, where we are now, and what to do to continue to protect yourself and others.
