David Penturf

My name is David Penturf, and once again I would appreciate your vote in the upcoming election on May 3.

It has been my honor and privilege to serve the people of Putnam County for the past 35 years. My family have been long-time residents of Putnam County, and I am a graduate of Greencastle High School.

I am fully licensed by the State of Indiana and graduated with honors from the School of Engineering at Purdue University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in land surveying. “Go Boilers.”

My priorities include maintaining the Corner Perpetuation program to prevent the loss of the thousands of section corners established by government surveyors in the 1800s. I’ve perpetuated hundreds of these corners and share the information with other surveyors. I assist the public and other departments with questions about land use, zoning, property taxes, acreage determination and other issues.

In addition to being the Putnam County surveyor, I also do private part-time surveying work, but will not be burdened with running a full-time survey business to take time away from my courthouse duties.

I have been blessed with my career, as I enjoy working outside and get to meet many people in the community.

I have been married to my wife of 32 years Sheila, and we have two grown children, Charlie and Amber Neese; one granddaughter, Emma Neese, and our family dog, Bear.

I have worked in the land surveying business since the age of 18 and I believe I am the most qualified candidate to serve the people of Putnam County.

I am immensely grateful to the family, friends, and loyal supporters whom have voted for me in the past and allowed me to serve the people of Putnam County.

Your vote is very much appreciated.
