Bridgeton Rendezvous slated April 23-24

BRIDGETON -- The annual Bridgeton Rendezvous is coming up Saturday and Sunday, April 23 and 24 in the southeastern Parke County hamlet.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday to enjoy a taste of authentic early 1800s living in a historic setting.

Registration for Saturday’s Brian Wilhoit Memorial Shoot starts at 8 a.m. and the shoot starts at 10 a.m.

The Bridgeton Volunteer Fire Dept. will have a fish fry from 2-7 p.m. Saturday at the new firehouse.

Sunday’s activities will include a historic 10 a.m. church service, followed at 1 p.m. by the program “Life and Times of William Henry Harrison” in the 1878 barn.

On both days, visitors can check out hearth cooking at the 1822 log cabin, corn grinding at the Bridgeton Mill and the 200th birthday party for the 1822 Case log cabin.

Food will be available at Collom’s Store and the Mill Snack Shop with vendors in the 1878 barn and Artisans’ Barn at the mill.

There will be no admission charges to any of these events and plenty of free parking.

Bridgeton is located nine miles south of Rockville off State Road 59 north from Brazil to the Bridgeton billboard.
