Mental Health America of Putnam County (MHAoPC) invites the community as it will reflect on its work in the past year, as well as celebrate those who have made an impact on mental health locally, at its annual meeting on Monday, June 6 at 7 p.m. at Music on the Square, 21 N. Indiana St., Greencastle.

Awards will be presented for Person of the Year and Educator of the Year, which recognize the work of a community member and a teacher who have contributed to mental health and wellness.

The event’s keynote speaker will be Mental Health America-Wabash Valley Region President and CEO Brandi Christiansen, who will discuss the 988 crisis hotline, as well as services which can be provided by those with lived experiences facing mental health challenges.

A new initiative, the purpose of 988 will be to connect callers to counselors at the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. A free toolkit which covers warning signs, factors and seeking help for mental health issues will also be highlighted.

Those with questions may contact the MHAoPC office at 653-3310 or visit www.mhaopc.org for more information.
