James Edward Miller

James Edward Miller passed away peacefully at Springhill Nursing home in Terre Haute on May 10, 2022.

He was born on Sept. 3, 1938 in Tower Hill, Ill., to the late Fred Miller and Mary Emma Ethridge.

He married Sharon Sue Bell from Roachdale on Sept. 7, 1963.

James was a U.S. Navy veteran who served from 1955 to 1961. He also ran a successful mechanic shop called Miller’s Garage for many years with his wife and sons in Roachdale.

James was a proud dad and grandpa. He loved to fish, hunt and play bingo.

He is survived by his siblings, Larry Severe, Pat Harlan, Alice Seitz, Shirley Severe and Mary Jo Reed; and his children, David Miller, Jamie (Dennis) Grimes, Brian (Mary) Miller and Jennifer Sexton. James is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and siblings Bill Miller, Don Severe and Junior Severe.

A graveside service will be held Friday, May 27 at 1:30 p.m. at Roachdale Cemetery.
