Purdue Club golf outing slated for June 22

The Purdue Club of Putnam County will host its 23rd-annual golf outing on Wednesday, June 22 at Tiger Pointe Country Club in Greencastle and will feature Purdue University guests.

Registration for the event will begin at 11 a.m., followed by lunch at 11:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m.

Purdue guests will include:

• Rapheal Davis, men’s basketball analyst for the Big Ten Network, graduate of Fort Wayne La Lumiere High School, director of development in Purdue’s College of Pharmacy, the 2015 Big Ten Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Year and a three-year team captain for the Boilermakers;

Bob Ford

• Bob Ford, retired Purdue sports broadcaster, graduate of Evansville North High School and member of the Indiana High School and Purdue University halls of fame; and

• Bobby “Buckets” Riddell, radio analyst and commentator for Purdue basketball, graduate of Tippecanoe County Harrison High School and Purdue Men’s Basketball player 2005-09.

A dinner at Tiger Pointe will follow the golf scramble at 6:30 p.m. Both lunch and dinner will be catered by Almost Home. The club’s scholarship recipients and the Purdue guests will be featured at the dinner.

Cost of the dinner is $25 per person, while the golf cost is $60 per person or $240 per team. Youth of high school age or younger may play for $40. Gold hole sponsorships are available for $100 and black hole sponsorships for $50.

Reservations should be made with Carrington by June 17.

All proceeds from the golf outing will be used to support the Purdue Club’s scholarship fund at the Putnam County Community Foundation.

Since the inception of its scholarship program, the Purdue Club has awarded $46,400 to 65 Putnam County students attending Purdue University.
