Tour of America concert on tap for Brazil Band

BRAZIL -- The Brazil Concert Band will present Tour of America, Out West, Sunday, June 12 in Forest Park.

The 8 p.m. concert is free and open to the public. In the event of inclement weather the concert will move to the Pavilion.

The BCB, directed by retired Greencastle school teacher Matthew S. Huber, will play “Sabre and Spurs,” written by Lt. John Philip Sousa for the American Cavalry, and “Oklahoma” by Richard Rodgers to include “Oh, What A Beautiful Mornin’,“ “Many A New Day,” “Oklahoma,” “People Will Say We Are In Love,” “Out Of My Dreams” and “The Surrey With The Fringe On Top” arranged by Erik Leidzen.

Lovers of movies about the Old West will saddle up to “Best Of The West!” arranged by Michael Story with “I’m On My Way” from” Paint Your Wagon,” “The Good, The Bad and the Ugly,” “The Magnificent Seven” and “Blazing Saddles.”

“Tijuana Brass In Concert,” arranged by Ted Ricketts, features “Spanish Flea,” “Whipped Cream,” “The Lonely Bull” and “Tijuana Taxi.”

A BCB audience favorite, “The Wizard of Oz,” arranged by James Barnes, has all the classic hits “Over The Rainbow,” “We’re Off To See The Wizard” and “If I Only Had A Brain.”

Disney fans will enjoy “The Music Of Disneyland” with “Mickey Mouse March” and a theme park load of familiar tunes in Jerry Brubaker’s arrangement.

The BCB will also play “Songs of Aloha” arranged by Ralph Ford, “St. Louis Blues” by W. C. Handy, “There’s Nothing Wrong in La-La Land” by Stephen Kent Goodman and Fred Jewell’s “The Westerner.”
