COVID-19 testing clinic to close at Health Department

Monday, June 27, 2022

Putnam County Hospital and the Putnam County Health Department have announced that that this Tuesday, June 28, will be the last day of the COVID-19 testing clinic.

The Putnam County Health Department has free take-home tests that will be available.

“The availability of at-home kits as well as expanded supply available for healthcare providers has greatly improved access to COVID-19 testing,” Putnam County Health Officer Adam Amos said. “The Putnam County Health Department would like to take this opportunity to thank the Putnam County Hospital for their tireless efforts and partnership on our community testing site over the last 18 months.”

Primary care offices will also be able to test patients at their offices. Anyone having COVID-19 symptoms is urged to contact his or her healthcare provider.

What else can be done to help prevent the spread of any illness?

• Avoid close contact. Avoid close contact with people who are sick. When you are sick, keep your distance from others to protect them from getting sick, too.

• Stay home when you are sick. If possible, stay home from work, school and errands when you are sick. This will help prevent you from spreading your illness to others.

• Cover your mouth and nose. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing. It may prevent those around you from getting sick. Flu and other serious respiratory illnesses are spread by cough, sneezing or unclean hands.

• Clean your hands. Washing your hands often will help protect you from germs. If soap and water are not

• Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs are often spread when people touch something that is contaminated with germs and then touch their eyes, nose or mouth.

• Wear a mask. Masks can reduce the transmission of all respiratory illnesses, including the flu.

• Practice other good health habits. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces at home, work or school, especially when someone is ill. Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids and eat nutritious food.

  • Um...we're in the middle of a pandemic.

  • That is ridiculous. We are starting to see an increase now. Putnam County is a joke.

  • When’s the monkey pox testing began? What hoops to jump through do you want us to do to keep ya’ll safe from it?

  • If everyone would have followed former Supreme Leader’s idea to inject disinfectants and take Ivermectin, we wouldn’t have needed this testing site.

    Eyeroll.

Koios - y'know, it's funny you should bring that up.

POTUS Trump advocated for the use of Hydroxychloroquine in dealing with the 'rona, after the verified successes of its use by Dr. Zelensky in a number of his patients in New York... in conjunction with Zinc and Z-pacs (antibiotics).

And people like you were so quick to scoff and ridicule and make your snide comments, like you just did.

That's okay. It just shows your prideful ignorance.

About a week or so ago I was watching M*A*S*H, a tv show from the 70's about the Korean War, which occurred in the 50's.

During one of these episodes, there is an outbreak of malaria or some such and there was a mixup with medicine.

Anyway, one of those medicines was chloroquine... a commonly used drug given to soldiers and international travelers to prevent certain infections.

The main difference between chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine is that the hydroxy- is safer and easier on the body.

In fact, on the show they make reference to the possible harmful side effects of the chloroquine on those of African origin. (Warning - It's done in a way that may offend your delicate nature.) Klinger, Lebanese at least in part, is also affected, if only to a lesser degree.

So, not only was POTUS Trump right, but he was following well established medical protocols... y'know... following the science.

Now, will you confess your ignorance? Perhaps apologize to POTUS Trump? Or will you simply continue to revel in your prideful ignorance?

  • Injecting disinfectants is not “following the science”. Also, while we are here, the January 6 attack on the US Capital was not a false flag attack led by Antifa as you have repeatedly suggested it was. It’s not I who is exhibiting signs of prideful ignorance.

  • Bed Dover: I can always count on a sarcastic juvenile comment from you. Grow up.

  • Queenie: No sarcasm intended. I really do want you to move away.
