Amber Halloran named PCYDC executive director
The board of directors of the Putnam County Youth Development Commission has announced Amber Halloran as the agency’s executive director.
Halloran comes to PCYDC from Family Support Services of West Central Indiana, where she worked on a number of projects including Healthy Families, Safe Dates and the 360 Coalition.
“The PCYDC board of directors is proud to welcome Amber Halloran to our team,” board President Lindsay Carter said. “Our staff and our board are eager to strengthen existing programs and add additional services to meet the needs of the children in our county. Amber has the experience and the skills to lead us into our next chapter, and we can’t wait to see what we will accomplish together.”
Halloran spent most of her childhood in Putnam County and is a 1996 graduate of Greencastle High School. She continued her education at Hanover College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 2000. She was a teacher and administrator at several schools in the Indianapolis area before returning to Greencastle in 2018.
“I am very excited about the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead as the new executive director for the Putnam County Youth Development Commission,” Halloran said. “I look forward to elevating the current programs of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) and Teen Court and also cultivating new partnerships to further the mission of PCYDC and support the most vulnerable children and youth in our community.”
Founded in 1996, the Putnam County Youth Development Commission is a non-profit organization with a mission to prevent delinquency by redirecting vulnerable children and youth toward productive behavior, to provide information, referral, and resources, and to advocate for children who have had incidents of substantiated abuse or neglect.
