Dr. Louis Eugene Thomas Smogor Jr., 78, of Greencastle, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2022.

Born Dec. 14, 1943 in South Bend, he was the son of Louis Eugene Thomas Smogor Sr. and Klementine (Kendziorski) Smogor.

Dr. Smogor was a mathematics professor at DePauw University for 51 years.

He is survived by his wife, Karen (Laurell) Smogor; children Michael Smogor and Robin Smogor; and two brothers, Robert Smogor and Howard Smogor and wife Patti.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Private graveside services will be held for Dr. Smogor at the Westridge Park Cemetery in Indianapolis.

Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
