2022 Putnam County Fair Queen Contest
With eight candidates vying for the crown, the 2022 Miss Putnam County Fair Queen Contest is set for 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 16.
The event will take pace in the Fairgrounds Community Building.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and admission is $5.
Here is a brief look at each of the young ladies in this year’s pageant.
The Putnam County Fair runs from Friday, July 22 through Friday, July 29.
Brooke Robertson
Brooke Robertson is the 19-year-old daughter of Joe and Marnie Robertson. She is a 2021 graduate from South Putnam High School. Brooke is the youngest of five siblings.
Brooke graduated from Tricoci University of Beauty Culture with a license in aesthetics. She is employed as a seamstress at Nelson & Co.
In her spare time she enjoys hiking with her dog and hanging out with family and friends.

Haley Smith
Haley Smith is the 20-year-old daughter of Ron and Melanie Smith. She is a 2020 graduate from Cloverdale High School. Haley has an older brother, Nick.
She is currently attending Indiana University Southeast studying biology and pre-medicine. Haley is employed as a nurse’s aide in training at Meadow Lakes Nursing Home in Mooresville.
In her spare time Haley enjoys horticulture, kayaking, hunting and hanging out with family and friends.

Hailee Young
Hailee Young is the 19-year-old daughter of Lee and Tracy Young. She is a 2021 graduate from Cloverdale High School. Hailee has two brothers, Hunter and Hudson.
She is currently attending Purdue University, studying agricultural education. Hailee is employed at Lieber State Park.
In her spare time she enjoys hanging out with family and friends and leading Bible studies.

Alex Steffy
Alex Steffy is the 19-year-old daughter of Jamie and Debbie Steffy. She is a 2021 graduate from South Putnam High School. Alex has two siblings, Drew and Evan.
She currently attends Purdue University where she is studying animal science. Alex is employed at Greencastle Aquatic Center.
In her spare time she enjoys showing livestock, playing sports and hanging out with family and friends.

Bree Mahoney-Sutherland
Bree Mahoney-Sutherland is the 19-year-old daughter of Erin Mahoney and the late Rick Sutherland. She is a 2021 graduate from South Putnam High School. Bree has one older sister, Shea.
She is currently attending DePauw University, where she is majoring in biology.
In her spare time she enjoys hiking, reading and arts.

Rainey Birge
Rainey Birge is the 20-year-old daughter of Brent Birge and Renee Hadley. She is a 2020 graduate from Greencastle High School. Rainey has one younger sister, Madeline.
She currently attends Indiana State University, where she is studying to become a nurse. Rainey is employed as a unit clinical assistant at Hendricks Regional Health.
In her spare time she enjoys helping out on the farm, photography and making memories with her Nana.

Sarah Baker
Sarah Baker is the 20-year-old daughter of Clark and Susan Baker. She is a 2020 graduate from Cloverdale High School. Sarah has two siblings, Ross and Hannah.
She is currently attending Purdue University, where she is studying insect biology. Sarah is employed at Starbucks.
In her spare time she enjoys painting, kayaking and traveling.

Handley Everman
Handley Everman is the 18-year-old daughter of Lyndsay and Jason Holmes. She is a 2022 graduate from North Putnam High School. Handley has a younger sister, Haelynn.
In the fall, she will be a freshman at Oklahoma State University where she will be studying agricultural communications.
In her spare time, Handley enjoys working in the barn and advancing her graphic design and photography business.
