Roberts named new principal at Ridpath
Ridpath Primary School has its new principal for the 2022-23 school year.
In a special meeting Monday afternoon, the Greencastle School Board unanimously approved Brandon Roberts as the new principal at Ridpath.
With Roberts recommended by Supt. Jeff Gibboney and no other items on the agenda, the meeting was over in three minutes.
“I am honored to join the Greencastle team,” Roberts said. “I felt very good about the position early on. I’m glad that it has turned out this way.”
Roberts comes to GCSC after serving as assistant principal at North Grove Elementary School in the Center Grove district last year. Prior to that, he had served as assistant principal at Seymour-Jackson Elementary School in Seymour Community Schools.
His classroom experience includes teaching second, third, fourth and fifth grades with Clark Pleasant Schools and at Colegio Interamericano in Guatemala.
A Franklin native, Roberts earned his bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Franklin College, then his master’s in administration and supervision from Indiana State University.
He has been married to Cloverdale native Whitney (Bond) Roberts for seven years, and they have two boys, ages four and three. Earlier this year, the family moved from Bargersville to Cloverdale, where much of their family already resides.
Roberts replaces Emily Johnson, who spent the last eight years as Ridpath principal.
