ROANOKE, Va. – Hollins University announced Wednesday Mallary Meyer as the new Head Swimming Coach for HU.

Meyer, a 2016 Greencastle graduate, currently serves as a coach for Tennessee Aquatics in Knoxville, Tenn., a position she has held since September of 2020. Since May of 2021, Meyer has been the Head Swim Coach of the West Side YMCA Marlins in Knoxville.

“We are ecstatic to have Mallary lead our swim program,” said Hollins Director of Athletics Chris Kilcoyne. “Mallary’s student-athlete focused approach to coaching shined through from the outset of the search process. She will be not only a great addition to our coaching staff, but more importantly, to the Hollins Community as a whole.”

Meyer swam collegiately at Division II Florida Southern where she earned her Bachelors of Science in Psychology, in addition to minors in both Biology & Exercise Science. As a junior, she was named an NCAA All-American as a member of the 800-freestyle relay team.

“I am overjoyed to start working alongside the athletes and staff at Hollins University,” said Meyer. “I look forward to continuing Hollins’ mission of promoting female empowerment and excellence, both in and out of the pool.”

Out of the pool, she was chosen to attend the NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum, was awarded the Division II ADA Academic Achievement Award at the NCAA Championships and was named to the Sunshine State Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll on multiple occasions. In addition, she was a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), serving as President as a senior.
