Kim (Updike) and Jeffrey (JT) Troth, of Sugar Land, Texas, died unexpectedly leaving their families and friends with memories of their love for each other, as well as their love for family and friends.

Kim left us May 29, 2022 after a few weeks of illness following surgery. JT died a few days later of natural causes. (It comforts those who knew them that he did not have to live without Kim.)

JT graduated from Pike High School and Kim from Perry Meridian High School in Indianapolis.

They were very proud to be graduates of Indiana University and celebrated being Hoosiers.

JT and Kim lived in nine different cities where they worked in the hospitality industry (Kim also in the retail industry).

JT was the son of Elaine Troth of Greencastle and is survived by a sister, Dr. Leszlie Woodyard of Athens, Ga.; a nephew, Eli Woodyard; and niece TJ Woodyard.

Kim was the daughter of Gary Updike of Missouri City, Texas, and is survived by her sister, Karla (Mike) Rivera of Spring, Texas, and brother Kevin (Stacy) of Missouri City, Texas.

They leave nieces and nephews who celebrate Uncle JT’s humor and enduring love of all sports and Aunt Kim’s sassy attitude and loyalty. They are grieved by numerous beloved aunts, uncles cousins and friends.

JT was predeceased by his father, Dennis Troth, and brother-in-law David Woodyard. Kim was predeceased by her mother, Diane Updike.

Kim leaves behind lifelong friends (Becky, Sarah, Gwen and Danise) who will grieve losing her for time to come. They plan a private celebration of their lives at a later date.
