City railroad closure delayed

Monday, August 1, 2022

Originally announced to begin on Aug. 20, work on the railroad crossing on North Jackson Street (U.S. 231) has been delayed. The public will be updated once an official date has been set.

Last week, the Indiana Department of Transportation had announced a closure date for the crossing. That was later retracted, with the date not yet determined.

Crews will be repaving and replacing ties at the tracks on the north side of city between Shadowlawn Avenue and Elizabeth Street.

INDOT reminds motorists to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through a work zone.

  • Why hasn't the paper taken down the original article that says the road will close August 20?
