Douglas M. Bryan, 75, of Fillmore, passed away on Friday, Aug. 12, 2022.

Douglas was born in Greencastle, the son of Wilma J. Holt Bryan Harris and Walter Bryan.

He was the stepson of Kenneth Harris, and brother to Debra (Steve) Gause and William Alan (Barbara) Bryan; stepbrother of Bernie (Jan) Harris, Doretta (Bill) Poynter, Larry (Richard) Harris and Tonja (Mike) Sears.

Douglas was preceded in death by his mother, father and stepbrother Bernie Harris.

Douglas married Jo Ann Hope on May 5, 1968. They had two children, Lori (Brian) Mager and Blake (Sarah) Bryan. He would tell you that he had the smartest and most beautiful granddaughters, Zoey Lee Bryan and Rowan Hope Bryan, all surviving him.

Doug attended Greencastle High School and Indiana Central Business College and became an accountant for Farm Bureau, KFC Franchises and Putnam County Hospital.

He loved his church family and served as deacon and Sunday school teacher for many years.

He “knew” and loved everyone. His granddaughter asked him once, “Papaw, why do you talk to so many people you don’t know?”
