Theresa L. Caputi

Theresa L. Rumple Sample Caputi, 87 of Greenwood, passed away Aug.19, 2022.

She was born Oct. 25, 1934 in Cloverdale. She was the daughter of Everett and Dema Patrick Rumple.

Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Loral Melvin Rumple, granddaughter Theresa Michelle Sample and grandson Joseph Radican.

She was a member of Amity Baptist Church and a 1952 graduate of Cloverdale High School.

She then married Ronald Edward Sample, also of Cloverdale in 1954. From that union they had five children, Gregory Z. (Marla) Sample, Paula M. (Michael) Radican, Charlene A. (Steve) Hambrick, Ronald Eric Sample and Everett F. (Julie) Sample.

In 1969, she had an additional child, Alan M. (Leslie) Fork II, from a second marriage.

In 1981, she married Saverio Caputi Jr. MD. and became stepmother to Jennifer Caputi Schuster.

She had 26 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

She is survived by one sister, Carolyn E. (Joe) Perschke.

She was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan. She also loved to play the slots, her flowers and spending time with her family and friends.

She worked for the United States Postal Service and retired in 2000.

Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Aug. 27 at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 26 from 3-8 p.m.
