The Putnam County Commissioners will not meet in a special session on Monday, Aug. 29, as had previously been reported.

The meeting has been canceled, with the matter instead to be discussed on Tuesday, Sept. 6, when the Commissioners have their next special session.

The subject will be possible future bridge and infrastructure projects in Putnam County.

Having taken an inventory of local bridges, County Engineer Jim Peck has been warning the Commissioners in recent months of the critical need to invest in the county’s bridge infrastructure in the coming years.

The Commissioners will be meeting on Tuesday due to the Labor Day holiday.

  • I hope the people in the county have a say in the bridges .
