A 21-year-old Indianapolis man was arrested Tuesday night for armed robbery and two additional gun-related charges, Greencastle City Police reported.

Jaxson Duke was lodged in the Putnam County Jail on charges of armed robbery, intimidation with a firearm, unlawful carrying of a handgun and resisting law enforcement following an incident that began about 10:30 p.m. on the city’s East Side.

About that time, city officers responded after receiving a report of a suspicious man outside the apartments at Judson Court. Duke reportedly pulled a handgun on an individual and demanded money. Police reports do not indicate whether or not his demands for money were met.

Duke reportedly fled the scene after police were notified and he was ultimately arrested at 10:36 p.m. on Avenue F by Sgt. Brad Hiatt.

The suspect was lodged in the Putnam County Jail Wednesday morning.

Armed robbery is a Level 3 felony, punishable by 3-16 years in prison. Intimidation with a handgun and resisting law enforcement are Level 5 felony counts, punishable by 1-6 years in prison. Unlawful carrying of a handgun is a Class A misdemeanor, punishable by up to a year in jail.
