Banner Graphic: How important are sports to you, and what have you learned from them?

Keirsten Clark: “Sports are pretty important. I’ve played them my whole life. They’ve taught me teamwork, how to work with people and gave me a lot of friendships.”

BG: Talk about volleyball.

KC: “I’m an outside hitter, the same position I’ve had in previous years, and we’ve had some success in previous year.”

BG: What’s the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you in sports?

KC: “I’ve whiffed the ball on set a few times.”

BG: What does your game day routine look like?

KC: “Me and the other seniors get food, come back, play Queens and get warmed up.”

BG: Do you have any favorite college/pro sports teams or athletes you follow?

KC: “I don’t really watch sports.”

BG: What else do you do at school besides things involving sports?

KC: “I do 4-H and show pigs.”

BG: What do you like to do outside of school and sports?

KC: “I like to hang out with friends and family mostly but don’t do much outside that.”

BG: What are your favorites in movies, TV and music?

KC: “One of my favorite shows is ‘The 100’ and ‘Friends,’ which I could watch over and over again.”

BG: Are you a person that wants to watch TV shows and movies or stream something from YouTube, Twitch, TikTok etc.?

KC: “I’d watch TikTok first, assuming homework is done.”

BG: What is something you have never done before that you would like to do someday?

KC: “I would like to travel more; to leave the country and visit different places.”

BG: What is your biggest fear?

KC: “Spiders. I hate them and don’t want them anywhere near me.”

BG: You’ve been placed in charge of making dinner. What’s on the menu?

KC: “The only thing I might know how to make is spaghetti. It’s a simple meal.”

BG: Do you have any pets?

KC: “I have two dogs, both Australian Shepherds, named Remy and Willa.”

BG: If your house were on fire, all living things were already out and you have your keys, cell phone, wallet/purse etc., what is one thing you would go back and get?

KC: “As long as everyone’s all right, I’m not sure there is anything I’d go get.”

BG: If you were to describe your personality in one word, what would that word be and why?

KC: “Fun. I think I’m fun to be around and funny personally. I feel like people enjoy hanging out with me.”

BG: What has been your favorite place to visit?

KC: “I enjoy going to Florida, somewhere warm and sunny, especially on the beach.”

BG: What was your favorite school field trip?

KC: “We went camping a Bradford Woods for three days.”

BG: How important is support from your family and classmates to your success?

KC: “My family is very important because they always support me and help me with anything. They’re important to my success. My volleyball teammates are also very supportive and nice to have them around to support me.”

BG: Describe your overall school experience both academically and athletically.

KC: “I don’t necessarily enjoy school but I also don’t do bad in school. I do OK. Athletically, I’ve enjoyed my experience. I love being part of the teams and make new friends that way.”

BG: If your school was to offer a class it currently doesn’t, what would you want to see taught?

KC: “Maybe something in agriculture because we don’t do anything like that any more. Something with livestock would be a fun class. We don’t have FFA anymore.”

BG: What are your plans for after high school, and what career are you headed toward?

KC: “I’m not sure what my plans are after school nor do I know what career I’m heading toward. I’ll probably get a simple business degree and figure it out from there.”

BG: Is it difficult to keep up with your school work being an athlete?

KC: “No, it’s not too difficult. I don’t have too much homework and have a study hall, so I keep up with it well during sports.”

BG: Which particular classes and teachers have helped you the most in high school?

KC: “I’ve never really liked math but my algebra II teacher, Mr. Hankee, I loved his class. He made if fun, I learned and actually did well in that class.”

BG: After college, if you had your choice, would you want to live in the mountains, on the beach or in the neighborhood?

KC: “I’d probably just stay around Greencastle. All my family live around here so I’d be good here.”

BG: Do you think high school has gone fast, and are you going to miss it?

KC: “The last couple years have gone fast. I won’t necessarily miss the school part but will miss hanging around with friends every day and the sports part.”
