Seth Kallem scored four goals, while Micah Foss added a pair as the Greencastle boys’ soccer team defeated the Northview Knights 6-1 at Harbison Stadium Thursday night.

The Tiger Cubs and Knights battled even for the first 20 minutes. Greencastle would finally break through when Kallem received a free kick and placed it behind the keeper for a 1-0 lead.

Northview struck quickly to answer the Cubs goal. Will Brock tied it up just a minute and a half later to score what would be the Knights’ only goal of the night.

Greencastle then started executing with precision passing and controlling the pace of play, earning several corner kicks as a result.

The Tiger Cubs finally took advantage of one when Kallem headed one in the net from a Micah Foss send.

Foss then got into the scoring act, scoring two goals in just over a minute to put the Cubs up 4-1 at the break.

“(The Tiger Cubs) are well coached, technically proficient and had some nice touches on the ball,” Knights head coach JP Arvin said.

In the second half Greencastle continued to string passes together and once again found Kallem, who got behind the Knight defense, increased the advantage to 5-1.

With 23 minutes left, the Cubs were forced to play a man down due to yellow card accumulation, though they were able to tack on one last score when Kallem took a throw from Logan Peters and quickly ripped it home for the 6-1 victory.

“We have really worked on our passing and our pressure. I keep seeing improvements. I am just happy each time we go out and get a little better,” Greencastle coach JD Sims said about the win.
