Indianapolis woman arrested for murder in eastern Parke County
ROCKVILLE — An Indianapolis woman has been formally charged with the murder of her husband in a camper in the Raccoon Lake area.
Angela Thomas, 56, is accused in the shooting death of her husband, 54-year-old Timothy Tomey, also of Indianapolis.
Parke County Prosecutor Steven Cvengros filed the charge against Thomas on Tuesday morning in Parke County Circuit Court.
The Parke County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a death investigation on Hideaway Lane at 3:45 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 2.
Hideaway Lane is off of Putnam Road, east of Raccoon Lake and south of U.S. 36, and less than a mile from the Putnam County line.
The deputies found Tomey in a camper, dead from a gunshot wound. They determined it was suspicious in nature and began further investigation.
Indiana State Police crime scene technicians investigated the scene, while neighbors and others in the areea were interviewed.
Thomas was taken into custody during the initial investigation.
An autopsy performed on Sept. 3 determined the cause of death to be homicide from a gunshot wound.
Based on the investigation, deputies initially charged Thomas with murder, and the case was turned over to the prosecutor’s office.
Thomas was being held at the Parke County Jail with no bond, awaiting an initial appearance in court.
