Advocating Recovery

Thursday, September 8, 2022
With members of the Putnam County Recovery Coalition (PCRC) and Cummins Behavioral Health present, Mayor Bill Dory (center, seated) signs a proclamation Thursday declaring September as Recovery Month in Greencastle. Joining Dory for the occasion are (from left, seated) PCRC president Sheila Holloway, PCRC member Tina French, Cummins director Rebecca Roy, PCRC vice president Dee Yurkovic, Cummins community health workers Shelby Lindsay and Taren Proctor, Cummins life skills specialist Kaleigh Sharp, Cummins CEO Amy Mace, Cummins substance use therapist Sarah Rohder and Cummins substance use team leader Erin Skaruppa. Calling for greater support of behavioral health professionals and advocates, the proclamation notes that Putnam County continues to see a rise in overdose deaths, with nine such deaths documented last year.
