• At 4:53 a.m. on Wednesday, David Bean, 56, Brazil, was westbound on U.S. 40 in a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu.

Bean told Deputy Joshua Clark he saw what appeared to be a deer in the road, so he swerved into the median, where the vehicle became stuck.

Clark also noted heavy front end damage to the car, which was towed.

The deputy estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000.

• At 5 p.m. on Monday, Lisa McKee-Boyce, 44, Reelsville, was pulling out of her driveway on Count Road 1000 South in a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox in a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox. Michael A. Frye, 65, Brazil, was westbound on a 2016 Honda GL1800 motorcycle.

McKee-Boyce told Deputy Robert Soilleux that as she pulled out of the driveway, the motorcycle crested a hill just east of her, so she “floored it.” However, the motorcycle went into the ditch to avoid a collision.

Frye said that as he crested the hill, the Equinox pulled out in front of him. He forcefully applied the brakes, which caused the front wheel to lock up and the bike to fall down and enter the ditch.

He was seen by medics but refused transport to the hospital after complaining of head and neck pain.

McKee-Boyce told Soilleux she always stops and listens for appraoching traffic before exiting her driveway.

The motorcycle was towed. Soilleux estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000.

• At 8:21 a.m. on Sunday, Shane C. Joyner, 49, Sunday, was westbound on West Walnut in a 1999 Jeep Cherokee when it left the roadway and hit a guardrail at the southeast corner of the intersection with County Road 400 West.

The vehicle then rolled onto its passenger side, but Joyner was not trapped.

Joyner was found to be intoxicated and was housed at the Putnam County Jail for driving while intoxicated with a prior conviction.

The vehicle was towed. Deputy Randy Patrick estimated damage at $2,500-$5,000.

• At 7:23 p.m. on Saturday, Mark A. Fox, 51, Greencastle, was westbound on County Road 50 North approaching the T intersection at County Road 225 East in a 1996 Ford F-150.

Fox told Deputy Todd Hopkins he attempted to stop but could not on the wet road.

The pickup slid through the intersection and off the road.

Hopkins noted a long skidmark leading from the middle of the intersection to where the vehicle came to rest, and included the speed of the vehicle in wet conditions as a factor in the crash.

Fox’s vehicle was towed to his residence. Hopkins estimated damage at $2,500-$5,000.
