Police investigate two deaths in South Jackson Street home

Police are investigating after two deceased individuals were found in a South Jackson Street home Thursday afternoon.

Though the investigation is ongoing, the Greencastle Police Department said there is no concern for public safety following the incident.

The investigation began as a welfare check on the two people who resided in the home in the 900 block of South Jackson Street.

Police responded to the home and had to make forced entry. Inside, they found two deceased people.

While police believe they know what happened, they are awaiting autopsy results.

“We are not looking into anything any further, just waiting on autopsies,” GPD Detective Capt. Michael Collins said. “There is no threat to the public.”
