County Jail

Several people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Monday

• At 1:52 a.m. Desirae E. Weaver, 34, Terre Haute, was lodged at the jail for trafficking with an inmate.

Sunday

• At 3:40 a.m. Abbey R. Prillman, 26, Camby, was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated.

Saturday

• At 8:46 p.m. Ian L. Kindred, 46, Fortville, was housed at the jail on a warrant.

• At 8:03 p.m. Jason A. Evans, 24, Cloverdale, was booked in for driving while intoxicated with a prior conviction.

• At 7:06 p.m. Sheryl S. Reed, 65, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail for criminal trespass and theft.

• At 9:06 a.m. Cameron D. King, 28, Greencastle, was taken into custody for driving with a suspended license and on a writ.

Thursday

• At 11:59 p.m. Belinda J. Zeffel, 52, Fillmore, was housed at the jail for driving while intoxicated.

City Police

Two recent arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 1:04 a.m. Wednesday, Patrick Kimes, 24, Fillmore, was arrested by Sgt. Brad Hiatt.

Taken into custody on State Road 240, Kimes was lodged in the Putnam County Jail on a charge of criminal mischief relative to allegedly vandalizing property in the area.

• At 4:30 p.m. Sept. 6, Cheecowa Withrow was arrested by Officer Zach Rhine.

Taken into custody at the Walmart store on Indianapolis Road, Withrow was charged with criminal trespass and theft when she was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

Withrow allegedly swapped price tags on clothing in an attempt to pay a lesser amount and allegedly took clothes into the Walmart restroom and changed into them. Merchandise was listed at a $30.96 loss.

Three people were recently issued a summons by city officers.

• At 11:26 p.m. Sept. 5, Lyric Chambers was issued a summons by Officer Chris Helmer.

Stopped on Indianapolis Road, Chambers was cited for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.

• At 7:40 p.m. Sept. 4, Anthony Hicks, 54, Indianapolis, was issued a summons by Officer Billy DeWitt.

Hicks was cited for possession of paraphernalia at a North Arlington Street residence.

• At 9:35 p.m. Sept. 1, Dakota Zoellner, 23, Roachdale, was issued a summons by Hiatt.

Stopped on Bloomington Street, Zoellner was cited for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to two incidents since Saturday evening.

• At 5:25 p.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to 418 Anderson St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 5:29 and determined the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 5:35 p.m.

• At 11:41 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to Sigma Chi at DePauw University for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 11:42 and found the alarm was connected to a water flow switch, but no issue was identified. The alarm system could not be reset, so it was advised that maintenance be contacted. GFD went back into service at 12:15 a.m. Monday morning.

Additionally, GFD performed five medical assists during this timeframe.
