Scott Swan to speak at GCC
Scott Swan, who has won multiple Emmy awards and other honors during 20 years with WTHR 13, will speak at Greencastle Christian Church on Wednesday, Sept. 21.
Organized by GCC’s senior ministry, Swans speak is set for noon in the worship center of the church, 620 Primrose Ct., Greencastle.
Besides winning multiple Emmys for his reporting and anchor work, Swan has previously been named “Best Reporter” by the Indiana Associated Press.
In 2008 Swan was honored with a National Edward R. Murrow award and a National Headliner award for “Mission Complete” -- a story about an Indiana Marine who lost both legs in a roadside bomb attack in Iraq.
Swan has also landed many exclusives during his WTHR career.
Prior to his career at WTHR, Swan worked at KTVX-TV in Salt Lake City, WISH-TV in Indianapolis, KITV-TV in Honolulu, KESQ-TV in Palm Springs, KHJ-TV in Los Angeles, and Disneyland Broadcast Services.
Swan enjoys talking about his Christian faith and speaks at churches and prisons across Indiana. He also volunteers with the Lamplighter Ministry Inc. in Indianapolis.
