PCSO assists with capture of federal fugitive

WAVELAND — On Tuesday, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the capture of a federal fugitive.

PCSO assisted the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department and the Indiana State Police to capture Brandi Dimas, who was wanted on federal human smuggling charges.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, information was gathered that Dimas was located at an address in Russellville. Through surveillance of the address, law enforcement agents observed Dimas enter a Ford SUV, which led them from Russellville to a gas station in Waveland.

At this location, Dimas was taken into custody without incident.

During the search of the SUV, suspected narcotics were located in the passenger compartment. These substances were turned over to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office for potential further charges.
