Rodney Lee Gaffney, 61, of Greencastle, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2022.

Rod was born on Dec. 20, 1960, in Paxton, Ill., to Charles and Phyllis Gaffney.

Along with other Legion members, he helped organize fundraisers for local families in need, Pets Healing Vets, Beyond Homeless, clothing drives for veterans and many other great causes.

Rod had a wonderful soul and cared for people as though they were family. He was a father figure to kids who needed guidance and loved helping people. He will be greatly missed.
