Virginia Walbring Hanna

Virginia Walbring Hanna, 98, of Greencastle, passed away on Monday, Oct. 10, 2022, at Asbury Towers.

Virginia was born on Jan. 10, 1924 to Fredrick and Flora (Neese) Walbring of Owen County.

She was a graduate of Greencastle High School, Class of 1942.

Virginia is survived by her son, D. Stephen Hanna (Marjie); daughter Sandra H. Liston (John); grandchildren Megan Hanna and Sean (Meghan) Liston; great grandson Jack and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Daniel H. Hanna, her parents and seven brothers and sisters.

Virginia attended Indiana University and Wean Business School. She worked in the office of the Dean of Students at DePauw University for 25 years.

She was a charter member of the Chapter CB of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, an organization which promotes educational opportunities for women. She was an active participant in the activities of the First Christian Church Women’s Fellowship and the Resident Council of Asbury Towers.

Burial will be private.
