Thomas James Butts

Thomas James Butts, 60, of Greencastle, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022, in Indianapolis.

Thomas was born in Danville, Ill., on Dec. 4, 1961, the son of Donald J. and Lieselotte (Jurgens) Butts.

Tom worked his entire life as a diesel mechanic, and for more than a decade he worked for Dave Tomasch Inc. (DTI Transportation).

Survivors include his wife, Monica (Bright) Butts of Greencastle; his two children, Leeah (Butts) Vasquez (Jason Wojcicki) of Griffith; and Thomas Butts (Megan Vandeventer) of Brazil; a sister, Lisa Lane of South Carolina; a grandson, Sylas Vasquez of Griffith; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Andrew J. Butts; and his father- and mother-in-law, Gary and Darlene (Cline) Biddle.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Pastor Pat Smith officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of service.
