William David Clodfelter

William David Clodfelter passed away peacefully at Mill Pond Health Campus surrounded by his family on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022.

He was born June 7, 1927, and lived in rural Russellville in two different historic Clodfelter homes all of his life.

His primary occupation was farming, and he also worked for the Greencastle post office for 20 years as a rural mail carrier.

He joined Union Chapel United Methodist Church in Morton during his teens and remained a lifelong member there.

David (Bill) was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Glennie Clodfelter, as well as his parents, Elmer and Betty (Sewell) Clodfelter. Also preceding him were his brothers, Howard, Willard, Lloyd, Lyle, Kenneth and Don Clodfelter.

Surviving are his children, John (Cathy), Steve (Judy), Lou (Jeff) Fordice, Mark (Cindy) and Paul (Laurie). Also surviving are grandchildren Matt (Regina) Clodfelter, Adam (Katey) Clodfelter, David (Kylee) Clodfelter, Megan (Brad) Stephenson, Samantha Clodfelter, Jennifer (Mick) Conley, Sarah (Shawn) Smith, Emily (Bobby) Bennett, Jared (Torie) Clodfelter, Whitney (Matt) Ruf, Luke Stewart, Anna Clodfelter and Mary Clodfelter; as well as 22 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his current wife, Thalia Gibson Clodfelter, and her children, Kerry Poynter, Kathy Lee, Lee Ann Scoby and Gail Poynter.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 1 from 5-8 p.m. at Hopkins–Rector Funeral Home in Greencastle. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Hebron Cemetery in Russellville.
