Mary Lea Hughes

Mary Lea Hughes, 77, of Quincy, passed away on Nov. 5, 2022, at IU Health Bloomington Hospital due to medical complications.

Mary was born on Nov. 18, 1944, at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana. She was the daughter of Otto and Myrtle Dupuy.

Mary enjoyed many hobbies, including gardening, painting and collecting Elvis memorabilia, but none more than sitting and watching her hummingbirds on sunny Indiana days.

Mary was predeceased by husband Wayne Hughes.

She is survived by sons Mike, David and Mark Hughes; granddaughter Tracy Mitchell-Hughes; and grandsons Alex, Jordan and Joshua Hughes.

Mary will be cremated at Cremation Society of Indiana.

In lieu of a traditional memorial service, by her wishes, family will instead hold a remembrance of life in the spring, when she will then be interned beside her husband on the family plot.
