Helping the Homeless

With homelessness and hunger an ongoing concern in the community, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a food and non/food drive for Beyond Homeless Inc. Matron Vova Johnson and Cpl. Scott Ducker show off the collection box in the PCSO lobby. The needs for Beyond Homeless clients include not only food, but also basic living items such as toiler paper, soap and cleaning supplies (full list below). Anyone who has the ability is invited to donate some items to make a difference in the life of a struggling family. Drop-offs may be made at the Sheriff’s Office, 13 Keightly Rd., Greencastle, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Anyone with perishable items such as meat or cheese may contact Beyond Homeless directly at 765-301-9263 to arrange for delivery and storage.
