Terrell Stafford to perform with DePauw Jazz Festival Orchestra Friday
JazzFest is a yearly event hosted by the DePauw University School of Music that invites middle and high school students from across Indiana to the Green Center for the Performing Arts to participate in performances and masterclasses and to see legendary Jazz Musicians perform.
As part of the festivities, DePauw will welcome Terrell Stafford at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18.
The School of Music is hosting 10 bands for the acclaimed trumpet player based in New York, who has been hailed as “one of the great players of our time, a fabulous trumpet player” by piano legend McCoy Tyner.
Stafford is recognized as an incredibly gifted and versatile player, combining a deep love of melody with his own brand of spirited and adventurous lyricism.
Stafford’s expressive and well-defined musical talent allows him to dance in and around the rich trumpet tradition of his predecessors while making his own inroads.

The School of Music’s next large event will be its annual Holiday Gala on Saturday, Dec. 5. This year’s theme is Top 40 Holidays.
