Martha ‘Mae’ Wilson

Martha “Mae” Wilson, 83, of Avon, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022.

She was born on May 1, 1939 in Lejunior, Harlan County, Ky., to the late Allie Frances (Husky) and George William Carr.

Mae worked for the Avon High School cafeteria, Woodmizer and retired from Public Service Indiana.

She loved flowers, watching westerns, bowling and gardening.

Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Kay Curran (Robert) of Avon, Brenda Jean McKinney (Tracy) of Bainbridge and LaDonna Rae Wilson (Dean) of Ladoga; brothers Arnold Lee Carr and John Sester (Wanda); sister Wilma Callahan; six grandchildren, Jason Curran (Stephanie), Crystal Hoffar (Ian), Tyler McKinney (Jamie), Kala Tigert (Joey), Stephen Wilson (Nicole) and James Michael Wilson (Shannon); and 16 great-grandchildren.

Her parents and siblings, Geraldine Pickerell, Walter Setzer and Ruby Ann Carr, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 12-1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 14 in Baker Funeral Home, Danville. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with burial to follow in Danville South Cemetery.
