Cougars hold off Eagles for JV County title

North Putnam used a balanced scoring attack to defeat South Putnam in the final of the Putnam County Girls' JV Basketball Tournament Saturday 39-34. Melanie Davies scored 10 points to lead the Cougars in the win with Hailee Daigle adding seven points, Jenna Day scoring six points, Mackenzie Mason and Riley Huffman scoring five points each, Kassidy Hackleman chipping in four points and Peyton Doss adding a basket. Other members of the winning Cougar squad include Avery Ramsey, Brooke Hensley and Haelynn Everman, along with JV head coach Kelly Windmiller and assistant coach Haley Weaver.
