Emma Jean Wood

Emma Jean Wood, 86, Greencastle, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2022.

She was born July 1, 1936, in Groveland, the daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth (Jarnigan) Wood.

She was a 1955 graduate of Bainbridge High School.

Emma retired from DePauw University, where she worked in food services for 42 years.

She was a member of the Hanna Street Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Marie Knudson and Geraldine Goss; and brothers Albert, Odell and Norman Wood.

Emma is survived by 16 nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Brick Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
