Russellville council adopts 2023 salaries
RUSSELLVILLE — Closing out business for 2022 with a short meeting Wednesday evening, the Russellville Town Council adopted salaries and wages which, except for one increase, will remain unchanged.
The salaries and wages as set out in Ordinance 2022-8 are as follows:
• Council members: $1,690, split equally between the General Fund and Water Utility Fund;
• Council president: $2,000, split equally between the General Fund and Water Utility Fund;
• Clerk-treasurer: $24,000, split equally between the General Fund and Water Utility Fund;
• Town marshal: $12,000 paid from the General Fund, along with a $400 uniform allowance paid out equally in January and July;
• Deputy town marshal(s): $25 per hour worked paid out of the General Fund; with salaries not to exceed $12,000, along with a $400 uniform allowance paid out equally in January and July;
• Water utility employees: $4,800, paid from the Water Utility Fund;
• Street superintendent(s): $4,800, paid from the Water Utility Fund; and
• Occasional labor: $15 per hour worked, pulled from funds which are deemed appropriate.
In the only change made, a deputy clerk-treasurer’s maximum salary will go from $10,000 to $15,000, split equally between the General Fund and the Water Utility Fund. While the $15 hourly rate will stand, 1,000 hours would be the allotted yearly allowance.
Clerk-Treasurer Martha Mandleco said she would add an additional deputy clerk-treasurer, with the addition covered in the budget.
In approving the ordinance, the council also voted to waive additional readings of it.
In other business:
• The council voted to retain Henthorn, Harris & Weliever as the town’s legal counsel.
With Mandleco and Town Attorney Stu Weliever joining council members Cathy Jones and Bill Spiegel, Council President Cary McGaughey, Deputy Clerk-Treasurer Catherine Engle, Street Superintendent John Boller and Town Marshal Matt Biggs were absent.
The next regular meeting of the Russellville Town Council is set for Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. at the Russellville Community Center.
