City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to four incidents since Thursday afternoon:

• At 12:22 p.m. on Thursday, GFD responded to a motor vehicle incident with injuries at the intersection of Veterans Memorial Highway and Percy L. Julian Drive. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 12:38 and assisted with patient care and cleaned up debris and fluid. GFD went back into service at 1:35 p.m.

• At 1:34 p.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to 11 N. Indiana St. for a smoke detector activation. Firefighters arrived at 1:36 and did not determine a cause for the alarm. The alarm system was reset. GFD went back into service at 1:44 p.m.

• At 3:51 p.m. on Thursday, GFD received a direct call for a fire alarm at 625 E. Washington St. Firefighters arrived to the vacant property at 3:53 as the alarm was sounding. The battery was determined to be dead and it was removed from the activated detector. GFD went back into service at 4:21 p.m.

• At 1:24 a.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to Phi Kappa Psi at DePauw University for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 1:26 and found that a pull station was activated, though no issues were found otherwise. GFD went back into service at 1:42 p.m.

Additionally, GFD responded to 11 medical assists and had one disregard in and around this timeframe.
