Lauri Hootman Wilkinson

On Monday, Jan. 9, 2023, Lauri Hootman Wilkinson passed away at her Brownsburg home with several loved ones surrounding her with love and care.

Born on June 9, 1967 to Glen and Nadyne Hootman, Lauri graduated from Lebanon High School in 1985 and Indiana State University in 1989. In September of 1991, Lauri began her 31-year career with Walmart. For the past 29 years she has served as the administrative assistant for the general transportation manager.

Lauri was a free-spirited person who loved living life. She enjoyed being outdoors, biking, camping, hiking, boating and participating with her grade school friends in many charity runs/walks over the years. In addition, she was involved in planning the Children’s Miracle Network events supported by Walmart. She was a diehard Packers fan and a Dead & Company megafan.

Lauri was a devoted friend with many long-lasting friendships. She adored her family, and especially her daughter, Mandi (Garl) and her husband, Jason. She is survived by her sisters, Cheri Meares (Joe) and Jodi Merryman (Scotty); brother Rick Hootman (Stephanie); stepsister, Dana Wireman; stepbrother Chuck Hearn; stepmom Rose Hootman; and also Lauri’s three stepchildren, Azalea, Jadon and Kiera Wilkinson.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 13 from 3-6 p.m. at Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon, with the funeral service following.

In lieu of sending flowers, the family asks that those who are able make a donation to the American Cancer Society.
