Oakland University senior Jalen Moore was named Nike Player of the Week by the Horizon League for the week of Jan. 2 to highlight recent collegiate performances for Putnam County graduates.

Moore contributed to a two-game win streak over New Year’s weekend for the Golden Grizzlies to get them back into the win column after an eight-game drought. He delivered a season-high eight assists against Milwaukee, and then topped it off with another season-high 25 points against Green Bay to help secure the wins.

The Cloverdale native is the Horizon League assist leader averaging 6.1 assists per game with a tally of 73 assists for the 2022-23 season.

With these attributes, Moore is nationally ranked for his outstanding work on the court and continues to climb the NCAA men’s basketball standings ranking 10th in the division for assists per game, as well as 31st for overall assists on the season tied with Umoja Gibson (DePaul) and Cameron Parker (Portland State).

For the season, Moore has played in 14 of 17 after battling injury problems early in the season and ranks second on the team in scoring at 14.7 points per game.
