Roger Alan Wright

Roger Alan Wright, 66, of Coatesville, passed away Friday morning, Jan. 13, 2023, at Hendricks Regional.

Born March 29, 1956, in Swaffham, England, he was the son of Robert R. Wright and Frances Kingry Wright.

He graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1974 and earned an associate’s degree in aviation maintenance.

Roger was an Eagle Scout with Troop 326 at St. Bernard’s. He was a minisino firecrafter in scouting. He served with the volunteer fire service for 38 years, starting at Walnut Township in New Ross, then for 22 years at Wayne Township in Marion County and then Floyd Township in Putnam County, where he retired as chief of the department.

Surviving family includes son Roger Eric (Sara) Wright and their children, Owen and Levi; daughter Kristine (Mark) Jarboe and their children, Samantha, Grant and Sean; son Gabriel (Macon) Wright and their daughter, Zuri; daughter Stacey (Dustin) Weir; two brothers, Rodney (Debbie) Wright and Bobby Wright; and cousin Linda Kingry.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services for immediate family will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery North in Crawfordsville.

Arrangements were entrusted to Burkhart Funeral Home.
