Charles William Simon

Charles William Simon, 83, of Cloverdale, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023.

He was born Aug. 19, 1939 to the late Charles and Beulah (Stanton) Simon.

Charles married Wanda (Brown) Simon June 22, 1965, and she survives.

Charles retired from National Starch Chemical in 2002 after 39 years.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Cloverdale and the Cloverdale Lions Club.

In addition to his wife Wanda he is also survived by his children, Darryl Simon of Lawrenceburg, Leslie Justice of Greendale, Gil (Stella) Wheeler of Brownsburg, Joe Wheeler of Franklin, and Ky Wheeler of Cloverdale; sisters Barbara Simon and Linda Hancock; grandchildren Stacey Roberson, Brian Wheeler, Marc Wheeler, Nathan Wheeler, Stella Anna Wheeler, Thomas Wheeler, Drew Simon, Tony Frick, Curt Frick, Michael Justice, Cory Simon and Kelli Simon; 18 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his sons, Tim Wheeler and David Simon; sisters Zoe Donna Simon, Betty Lieske and Dorothy Moore; and brothers John B. Simon and Gordon Simon.

Funeral services for Charles will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23 at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service time of 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Cloverdale Lions Club or the American Cancer Society in Charles’s name.
